What is THROGA?

If you can talk, you can sing. We believe in celebrating the vocal qualities that makes us all unique, while working hard to improve our skills to achieve a healthy, strong and well balanced instrument. This philosophy has led THROGA (throat-yoga) to be utilized by vocalists applying its techniques in all 50 US States and over 100 countries around the globe. One of the reasons for its popularity is due to its rare nature of being universally applicable to other methods of teaching, as well as being a stand-alone. Whether an aspiring singer, touring artist, public speaker, actor or educator, THROGA can lead a vocalist to their full potential.

THROGA’s techniques primarily consist of utilizing two concepts. First, is the patented 7 Dimensions of Singing (7DS), which allows you to accurately target and develop any aspect of your voice using contemporary biological science. Second, is the THROGA Guidelines, which greatly reduces any unnecessary tension for a safe and effective practice.

These educational tools are designed to take advantage of how the neural-pathways in our brain works; the more focused and efficient an exercise is, the faster we can develop new, positive, behaviors. This makes it significantly easier to choose (and modify) the right exercises, at the right time, for the best results.

Currently, we are developing an advanced training program for vocal coaches to become THROGA Certified Teachers (Vocal Coaches) and have several exciting projects and Events coming in the new year.

Theodis Anderson

Director of A&R
Hawaii, United States

Theo started out in music as a Soprano Horn player in the Patriots Drum and Bugle Corp at just 12 years old. Discovering a natural ability to play by ear, his love of music quickly fueled a desire to reach beyond just playing an instrument. Refusing to wait around for opportunity to knock, Theo jumped in to every role he could behind the scenes in order to learn how the music industry worked on stage, in the studio and high on to the Billboard charts.

Theo’s professional journey started out as a roadie for a band on the rise in the 1980’s. Learning the ropes backstage, Theo found himself taking on several responsibilities and eventually took over as Tour Manager. Throughout his 7 years experience on the road, Theo made his mark. Not only as a reliable manager and friend to many, he also worked closely with Cobra Sound in achieving Guinness World Record breaking event in 1988 with Immaculate Mary, as the loudest band in the world!

Taking a break from the traveling, Theo became the lead Booking Manager for Platinum Entertainment and part owner of the Buffalo Icon Concert Hall, in Buffalo NY. This led to discovering and managing several aspiring artists, doing radio promotions, and working with major label bands such as Papa Roach, Goo Goo Dolls, Gym Class Heroes, Breaking Benjamin, They Might Be Giants and Brand New.

Due to failing health, Theo had to walk away from being actively involved in music until he was able to put 100% back into his craft. Now, after several years of patiently listening and monitoring trends both on the radio and behind the scenes, Theo is putting his experience and musical intuition back to work as Director of A&R. He will assist THROGA in discovering, organizing and representing talent affiliated with the company and future projects.

Jim Bostock

Brisbane, Australia

Jim Bostock is a specialist physiotherapist in Australia, who has helped thousands of singers and entertainers voices feel at ease. A unique ‘physical treatment’ that returns a singers voice back feeling free, strong and most importantly preventing vocal harm.

Jim’s passion for helping singers started in 2006 when he was watching many of his favourite singers falling to vocal trauma and cancelling shows. Having a unique approach to healing the human body, Jim started developing his own method for vocal release.

Eight years later, he launched the Bostock Technique a non-invasive & gentle nerve release treatment that is unlike any massage or manipulation. So gentle in fact that many fall asleep during a session. But when completed, the physical release to the voice is immediately felt. The singers’ voice returns feeling easier, sounding stronger and without any tension. As a bonus, the results are lasting up 4 months.

Jim is currently doing clinical studies that are producing significant data showing that his treatment + vocal exercises are reducing soft vocal polyps better than vocal exercises alone. When singers see Jim at their time of need, his treatment gets them on stage singing with their full voice and confidence.

Multi platinum selling artists, Broadway stars, world-renowned speakers, actors, and singers featured on X Factor and The Voice Australia are now fans of the Bostock Technique. Whether they are in fear of losing their voice or just wanting to sound great on stage or studio, Jim’s treatment is working wonders in the music world.
